Egyptian T-62
The T-62 is a Soviet main battle tank that entered production in 1961. As a further development of the T-55 series, the T-62 incorporated many armament features including the usage of a 115mm smoothbore tank gun. While the T-62 became the standard tank in the Soviet arsenal, it did not fully replace the T-55 in export markets.
The Egyptians and Syrians recieved many of the tanks before and after the Yom Kippur War. During the war, the T-62 was an effective adversary for Israeli Patton and Centurion main battle tanks. The T-62 had an advantage in its better night-fighting capability, but Syrian losses were heavy. The Israelis captured hundreds of these tanks from the Syrians in 1973, and put some of them into service as the Tiran-3.
We have here the Egyptian T-62 in its 1973 camaoflauge. The model was shared with us by the USI mod. SPYKER did a great job of tweaking the model and the texture. We will also have a Syrian texture for the T-62.
