Co-op mode tutorial and Highway Tampa v2 map
Hello,
I have created a tutorial PDF of how to set up and play Co-op maps in v0.17 of our mod. I have tweaked the way to play and set up co-op mode in our mod, trying to make it more logincal because EA/Dise kind of screwed it up and confused alot of people!! Co-op is basically single player but with a more options and settings. Once you understand these settings, co-op is a great way to play. I apologize for not including this tutorial with our latest release. I wrongly assumed that everyone knew how to play co-op maps and didn't think anyone played single player that much anymore, sorry!! I have also included in the tutorial a way to add 100 bots to a map. Its easy to do if you follow the instructions in the tutorial. Playing with 100 bots on some of the larger maps is awesome! But your computer may lag or in some rare cases crash with alot of bots if you have an older computer. Please read the tutorial carefully and using the 100 bot option will be at your own risk.
I have included one map with this tutorial that has been more optimized to play with 100 bots. The map is called Highway_Tampa_v2, it is a modifyied version of the orginal Highway Tampa map in BF2. I love this map and Jones from the Alpha Project Mod has generously shared his version of this map with us. He did a great job in editing the visuals and sounds of the map, it is a gorgeous map! It also has additional vehicle and artillery spawns from the AIX verion of the map. So there are plenty of vehicles, artillery and mortars for the bots to use. I have also included SP and conquest modes for this map. To install the map, copy and paste the Highway_Tampa_v2 folder into the levels folder of your IDF mod.
I hope this tutorial helps people understand co-op mode better. And hopefully you enjoy the additional map and trying out some of the other maps with 100 bots. Again please read and follow the tutrioal carefully, if you do than it will work. Give us some feedback also, does this make sense? Does this work? Is there a better way? Thank you and enjoy!
